Touch Grass! and other small steps that can help save the world

Olivia Aguilar is the Director of the Miller Worley Center for the Environment and Professor of environmental studies at Mount Holyoke College. Her expertise lies at the intersection of community, race and transformative learning in environmental education, specifically examining approaches and methods to create a more inclusive field. In her director role, she uses this background to make programming, curriculum and sustainable living accessible and relevant to the entire college community through the lens of justice. Her research also embraces inclusivity through the use of reimagining and storytelling. In her book A Latine Outdoor Experience: Remembering, Resisting and Reimagining, she reframes what it means to be “outdoors” and is currently using storytelling methods to investigate the motivations behind voluntary im/mobility in a changing climate.
