Unfinished Work

Unfinished Work by Genevieve Baudoin chronicles the research and creative work of contemporary technologies applied to masonry construction. The study Woven Blocks suggests a return to tactile solidty and the space of interaction between a building and its users. Three case studies examine the architectural and spatial potential of on-site 3D-printed masonry blocks that work to balance the known challenges of automated construction wiith the cultural and aesthetic challenges of a given site. By studying multiple sites in radically distinct contexts, the design/form/space and the construction can be shaped by the context and its coincident technological response.
