Three Plays in Three Days
Come join an exciting new play reading series and audience talkback as University Theatre presents three politically charged plays for your consideration. Each show will be a staged read of a different exciting work, and each night will feature audience discussion afterwards. We want your feedback to help us choose next year’s season of shows. All shows start at 7:30PM.
“Sheepdog”: A mystery and a love story with high stakes and difficult, SHEEPDOG courageously looks at police violence, social class and interracial love in the 21st century. Thursday, November 19 in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre, Pealer Performing Arts Center, 7:30PM.
“Mr. Burns, a post electric play”: What do we remember when the lights go out? Obviously, the Simpsons. Join the cast as they meander through the future, complete with songs and a re-telling of the myth of TV’s most famous family. Friday, November 20, played in and with partnership with FSU Planetarium, CCIT, room 138, 7:30 PM (Gira Center for Communication and Informational Technology).
“The Thanksgiving Play”: Good intentions collide in this hilarious satire, when a collection of incurably woke teaching artists try to stage a school pageant which celebrates both Thanksgiving Day and Native American Heritage Month. Saturday, November 21 at Clatter Café, 15 South Broadway, Frostburg, 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 for food and beverages, show at 7:30).
