NC State's new Nature & Health Collaborative will host two opportunities to convene and converse this fall through its Conversations on Nature and Health initiative. Each date will feature university and community experts who will offer initial comments before a broader dialogue.
Join us Nov. 19 for a conversation focused on trees. Trees are critical parts of ecosystems and provide many services important to human health, including reducing air pollution, cooling and providing habitat for other species we depend on. What work can be done to further understand the connection between trees and health? How do we best take care of trees so they can take care of us? Hear perspectives from NC State researchers and industry professionals during a panel discussion and join the conversation. Aaron Hipp, professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and director of the Nature & Health Collaborative at NC State, will moderate the conversation. The panelists will be:
Basil Camu, co-founder of Leaf & Limb and Project PandoBrooke Costanza, urban forester at NC StateZach Manor, city of Raleigh urban foresterMeredith Martin, assistant professor in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at NC StateEnjoy coffee and a light breakfast starting at 8:45 a.m., followed by the moderated panel discussion at 9 a.m. There will be plenty of time after the panel discussion for continued conversation on trees and casual networking.
