International Intercoastal Cleanup - Historic Virginia Key Beach Park

Join us for the 41st International Coastal Cleanup — the world's largest one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways! Show your commitment to reducing marine debris alongside millions of volunteers across the globe, while also learning about Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, a treasured Miami landmark whose history reflects the struggle for equal access and opportunity. Once the only officially designated beach available to African Americans in Miami-Dade County, it stands today as a powerful reminder of the community's resilience and progress. Miami-Dade’s participation, organized by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade, features 65+ cleanups all over the county with 4,000 volunteers. This specific cleanup is being led by the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, a historical and ecological gem located only minutes from downtown Miami. Transportation is provided from North Campus (bus departs at 9 am) and Wolfson Campus (bus departs at 9:20 am), and you'll be done and back to campus by 1:30 pm.
