Charlie Hunter & Ella Feingold

Different Strokes for Different Folks

Acclaimed guitarists Charlie Hunter and Ella Feingold come together for Different Strokes for Different Folks, a duo performance built on spontaneity, trust, and what the artists describe as “minimalist funk.” Decades after first seeing Hunter perform, Feingold joins him as a collaborator and creative peer.

Blending elements of jazz, soul, funk, and ambient music, Hunter and Feingold create a musical conversation that is complex but never complicated. Their performances unfold with an easy sense of give-and-take, revealing two artists who know when to lead, when to listen, and when to leave space for surprise. Presented in two performances, audiences can experience every nuance of the duo’s remarkable musical exchange.
