U-SoA Fall 2026 Tecnoglass Lecture by Marina Acayaba + Juan Pablo Rosenberg / AR Arquitetos (Brazil)

5:30 pm RECEPTION / 6:00 pm LECTURE Founded in 2008 in São Paulo, Brazil, Acayaba + Rosenberg Arquitetos develops projects across a wide range of scales and programmes, operating from buildings to furniture, always guided by a strong commitment to experimentation and precision in execution. With a portfolio of over 150 projects, the practice seeks to reconcile craftsmanship and ancestral knowledge with contemporary technologies, in order to propose an architecture that is at once minimal, assertive, and subtly nuanced, responding thoughtfully to the demands at hand. Black and white articulate and modulate unexpected light conditions, while the use of construction techniques employing raw materials gives expression to either weight or lightness, depending on the context. This is consistently achieved through an acute attention to detail and in close dialogue with the surrounding environment. Over the years, the practice has received numerous awards, including the IAB Award (Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil) in 2025 for Casa em Pedro do Rio, the Prix Versailles 2022 for the A Mafalda project, and the AB Award 2021 for Edifício Rosa on Avenida Paulista, also nominated for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP). Additional IAB-SP awards were granted in 2019, 2017, 2011 and 2010, among others.
