Curious what existing products and failed ventures can teach us about building something new? Join the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) for STVP Studio: Deconstruct → Reconstruct!
This is a half-day, hands-on workshop where interdisciplinary teams will investigate a product, prototype, or startup case and uncover the assumptions behind its users, design, technology, and business model.
At this STVP Studio, you’ll:
Investigate: Map user journeys, decisions, and underlying assumptions.
Stress test: Identify evidence gaps, biases, and potential failure points.
Reconstruct: Develop a stronger solution, validation plan, and early prototype.
Share your findings: Present and defend your recommendations based on evidence—not polish.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is open to active Stanford students from any program or area of study (including computer science, design, engineering, humanities, medicine, and social sciences). No startup idea or prior entrepreneurship experience is required. Come ready to think critically, collaborate with new people, and explore how STVP approaches entrepreneurial problem-solving.
What to Expect:
You’ll work in a team of three to four students from different fields of study. This is a highly participatory, collaborative workshop rather than a lecture, so please plan to attend the full session. Light catering will be provided!
PLEASE NOTE: Space is limited. Registration is required. If your plans change, please cancel your registration promptly so another student can attend.
