OSIM Research Seminar Series Title: Working off the grid: Independent (gig) work and traditional OB theory Abstract: In this talk, I will share my journey into the study of gig workers at the professional end of the gig economy, their psychological experiences, the challenges they face, and the effect of those challenges on their thriving and resilience (along with data on possible interventions that might help). An ancillary theme in this talk is how this shift in context from solely considering workers within organizations to an examination of workers outside of organizations challenges us to rethink our constructs and theories.
