Let Me Eat Your Pancreas - Japanese Movie Night

Let Me Eat Your Pancreas
Kimi no suizō o tabetai, 2017

This one follows a quiet, keeps-to-himself high schooler who accidentally finds a diary belonging to Sakura, one of the most popular girls in his class. He discovers she's secretly living with a terminal pancreatic illness. What starts as an awkward "okay, I guess we're keeping this a secret together" turns into an unexpected, genuinely sweet friendship as the two spend her remaining time doing the things she's always wanted to do. It's funny, it's warm, and it doesn't shy away from the sad parts either. This is one of the most beloved Japanese dramas of the last decade, so come prepared with tissues.
