Data Storytelling with AI Workshop

Thibi would like to invite KAS Journalism in Transition Conference participants to a free workshop on Data Storytelling with AI on Saturday, 7 November, at Thibi Studio in Chiang Mai (a 15 minute walk from the Shangri-La Hotel).

The workshop will cover the basics of data journalism and data visualisation, then take you through a full data story using AI tools:

Get the data: scrape data from the web

Visualise it: design and build charts in Flourish using AI agents

Tell the story: vibe code an interactive data story, with no coding background needed

Along the way, we will draw from our decade of experience working with data journalism to look at the craft of telling stories with data – particularly on why a human touch is still critical. You don't have to have any experience with data journalism or AI. Please bring a laptop, and a story idea or dataset if you have one.Lunch will be provided.
