Every entrepreneur has an origin story. The best ones usually include a failure or two.

Join the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Right to Start, and Twist of Fate Comics for a Global Entrepreneurship Week lunch with Douglas Younger III, creator of Twist of Fate Comics: Tales of Great American Entrepreneurs.

Twist of Fate is a sci-fi comic universe where everyday people risk everything to start a business in pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness, and learn hard lessons along the way. Each issue pairs a new entrepreneurial hero with a conversation between Doug and a professor, so the story doubles as a lesson in resilience, financial literacy, and business thinking.

Over lunch, Doug will share:

Why he chose comics to teach entrepreneurship

What fictional failures can teach real founders

How storytelling can open the door for people who have never pictured themselves as business owners

We’ll close with Q&A and a conversation about why the freedom to start a business should belong to everyone.

Early release: Doug is bringing 50 copies of the debut issue, days before it goes public. The first 50 guests to check in take one home.
