Keynote Speaker: Jose MartinezU.S. Army Combat Veteran · Adaptive Athlete · Founder of Four Season Fighters

When Jose Martinez enlisted in the U.S. Army, he committed himself to serving others. Four months into his first deployment to Afghanistan, he stepped on a 60-pound improvised explosive device and lost three limbs.

A Special Forces team rescued him, and Jose died twice aboard the helicopter taking him to emergency care. He was told he would never walk again. He went on to become one of the first triple amputees with a hip disarticulation to walk with prosthetics, and later a champion adaptive surfer.

Today his nonprofit, Four Season Fighters, helps veterans, first responders and others heal from trauma. It also works on the isolation and suicide crisis affecting the veteran community.

His story is one of resilience, purpose and the power of community, and a reminder of what becomes possible when we refuse to leave anyone behind.
