Join us for Sip & Speak 7: Let’s Play, a casual mid-afternoon of games, crafts, and connection featuring favorites from across Korean, Japanese, and Chinese cultures! 🎲 Gong-gi 🇰🇷🀄 Mahjong 🇨🇳⚪️ ⚫️ Go - led by Wicker Park Go ClubKaruta 🇯🇵 - led by JASC (Japanese American Service Committee)⭐️ Korean Paper Star Folding Whether you already know how to play or have never heard of these games before, come learn something new, challenge your friends, and meet fellow language and culture lovers along the way. Come solo or bring your friends! You’ll have plenty of opportunities to play together, practice your language(s), and connect with new people in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. All language levels are welcome 💬 From complete beginners to native speakers, everyone can play either fully in their target languages or in English with a few new words thrown in! Can I bring my own games? Yes! If you want to practice speaking Chinese, Japanese, or Korean using familiar games, feel free to bring your own! (Uno, Jenga, Catan, all your faves). 🎟️ FREE ENTRY (suggested donation $10). Donations are optional but always appreciated and help us keep putting on more Sip & Speak events! 📅 3–6 PM📍 Gangnam Market (1001 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60642) 🚗 Parking: In case you're driving, parking is free for the first 90 minutes at the garage connected to Gangnam Market (entrance off N Morgan St). Street parking is also available.
