Learn the board. Play a few games. Get better at chess.

Candid Club Chess 101 is a beginner-friendly chess session covering the fundamentals of the game, followed by plenty of time to put them into practice.

We’ll go through how each piece moves, the basic rules, simple strategies, common mistakes, and how to start thinking a few moves ahead. Then we’ll pair up and play, with guidance along the way.

You don’t need to know how to play beforehand. If you already know the basics but want more practice, you’re welcome too.
