Learn to design and build with AI agents the way our teams at Microsoft CoreAI do. Bring an idea, pair up with another designer, and leave with something you built. It's beginner friendly (no coding experience needed), with plenty to explore if you already use agents.

See the whole design loop

This goes beyond prompt-to-prototype tools and design plugins. Agents can help at every step, from the first idea to user feedback and back again:

Explore several design directions side by side.

Build the best one in real code, with agents checking each other's work.

Watch agents click through it and record their own demo videos.

Set up a user study, from the screener to AI-moderated interviews.

Pull out themes with real quotes, and turn them into the next redesign.

Ship it with a pull request, so it lands in the real product.

Agents can even keep the loop going overnight, so you wake up to new designs, demos, and findings. We want everyone to have their wow moment.

Start anywhere

Our workflow is a lot like an engineer's, and it's easier to learn than it sounds. We'll set up together, step by step, starting with what a repo is and what worktrees are for. From there, go as far as you like: teach agents how you work, run a few at once, and pick the right model for each job, balancing quality and cost.

Good to know

All levels are welcome. It's beginner friendly, with plenty to dig into if you're more advanced.

It's free, and we'll have snacks and light refreshments.

Every attendee gets a free month of GitHub Copilot Max ($200 credit value), with the option to extend case by case.

We're keeping it to 16 people, so everyone gets hands-on help.

Bring a laptop you can install apps on, plus your charger. A personal laptop works best, since work laptops often block installs.

Please install VS Code before you come.

Hosts

Hosted by UXPA Seattle and designers from Microsoft CoreAI.

Elijah King is a product designer at Microsoft CoreAI, where he designs AI experiences in VS Code and GitHub Copilot. He prototypes in code and contributes to the open source VS Code repo. Before Microsoft, he spent four years at IBM designing cloud products, most recently as a product design lead. You'll get access to the agent customizations he uses every day, updated weekly, so you don't have to start from scratch.

Thoa Nguyen is a product designer on Microsoft Foundry, where she designs how developers build AI agents. She explores the intersection of AI and human experience, building and experimenting in code. She's built her own agents that review her designs for motion, content, design principles, and accessibility.
