Southern California – Home Assistant Community Day
Join fellow Home Assistant and smart home fans in Placentia for a relaxed afternoon of show-and-tell, gear swapping, and good conversation. We're taking over the patio at Stereo Brewing, a working taproom and small-batch brewery, with El Brewjo Burgers on site serving smash burgers and tots.
Saturday, November 7 · 1–5 PM PT
Stereo Brewing · 950 S Vía Rodeo, Placentia, CA 92870
We're part of the Open Home Foundation's Community Day 2026, with meetups happening all over the world on the same day.
What to expect
Meet other Home Assistant users, from first-timers to YAML wizards
A table for vendor and partner gear, plus hands-on demos
Bring your questions, projects, and favorite dashboards to show off
Giveaways all afternoon, and a raffle. Swag, smart home hardware, and gear from our partners
Beer on tap, and El Brewjo Burgers serving on the patio from 1 to 5
This is a hangout, not a conference. No stage, no talks, no projector
IoT swap meet
Got a drawer full of sensors, hubs, ESP32 boards, or smart plugs you've moved on from? Bring them!
Trade, sell, or give away Home Assistant, smart home, and IoT gear
Pick up something new from fellow attendees. It's a great way to try out new hardware
Please label items with a price and condition, and take home anything that doesn't find a new owner
All deals are person to person (cash, Venmo, etc., between you). The venue and hosts aren't responsible for sales, payments, or the condition of items
Food and drink
Everybody buys their own. Stereo has a full tap list, and El Brewjo Burgers is parked on site from 1 to 5 PM serving made-to-order smash burgers and tots. Non-alcoholic options are available at the bar.
Giveaways and raffle
We'll have giveaways running through the afternoon and a raffle, with hardware and gear from the Home Assistant partner community.
Thanks to Seeed Studio, Third Reality, Athom, Apollo Automation, and KinCony for making this event possible and for pitching in gear for the giveaways and the raffle.
You'll need to be there to win. We'll draw the raffle on the patio during the afternoon.
Getting here
By car
The easiest way in is the 91 freeway at Lakeview Avenue, exit 35. Head north on Lakeview, take a left on Miraloma, then a right on Vía Rodeo. From the off-ramp it's a little over a mile, three or four minutes.
If you're coming down the 57, stay on it south until it meets the 91, then head east and take that same Lakeview exit. The 57 does have an Orangethorpe Avenue exit and it works, but it puts you on about four miles of surface streets, so Lakeview is quicker.
The Lakeview interchange is being rebuilt right now, so expect some lane shifts and leave a few extra minutes. Parking is on site, but the lot is on the small side and Saturday afternoons fill up, so plan to park on the street nearby if it's full.
By rideshare
Drop-off at 950 S Vía Rodeo puts you at the front of the taproom.
Good to know
Registration requires host approval and space is limited, so please register early and update your RSVP if your plans change
We'll have the patio closed off for our group, and the taproom is open to the public as usual
Giveaway and raffle items are limited, and you have to be present to win the raffle
Stereo is dog and kid friendly
We'll take photos for the Community Day recap. If you'd rather not be photographed, just let us know at check-in
See you in Placentia!
