After kicking off the season with Beyond Human, we're leaving the planet for our second Science Night Glasgow!

This night is all about what it would really take to get out there, and what the universe can tell us about ourselves along the way. Every atom in your body was forged inside a star, so in a way, travelling through space is a trip back to where we came from. But getting there is another story. It means understanding how stars burn, what powers a ship across distances we can barely imagine, and why physics keeps putting a speed limit on the whole thing.

If the universe is this vast and this old, why haven't we heard from anyone? Could we ever bend the rules enough to go faster than light? And what would you even pack for a trip with no return ticket? Expect a mix of physics, maths, and a few thought experiments that sound impossible until someone explains them.

Who's on

We're finalising the line-up now: physicists, mathematicians and people who build things that go to space (space lasers may be involved!). Speakers to be announced very soon.

It's free to come along, and you don't need to know anything about the field. You'll spend the evening in a nice space with food, drinks and good people to talk to.

Every month, a different theme, lots of science, all the fun.
