We’re taught to see maps as objective representations of the world. But what if they’ve been used to manipulate it?
From colonial borders drawn with little regard for the people living within them to redlining, gerrymandering, and the distortions of the Mercator projection, maps have shaped who holds power, who gets excluded and how we see the world around us.
Join us for an evening exploring the hidden politics of geography, uncovering the stories behind the lines we take for granted, and questioning just how neutral a map can really be.
