Meet the investors

Melanie Goward has over 20 years’ experience in early-stage investment, specialising in technology, life sciences and biotechnology. She leads early-stage and growth capital investments across the South and South West of England and Wales at Maven, having previously held investment roles at Finance Wales and Nesta Investments.

Ben Cooper is an experienced angel investor and Co-Founder of Angel Investors Bristol, supporting early-stage technology startups across the South West. He is also a Director at Tech South West, where he leads funding and investment initiatives, helping innovative businesses access capital and scale. His investment interests span deep tech, clean tech and other high-growth technology sectors.
