What does it take for a new food product to move from unfamiliar idea to everyday choice — and does Europe have the right conditions for food innovation to succeed?

This session will explore what businesses and innovators have learned about responding to consumers, from taste, price and nutrition to familiarity and trust, before turning to the wider policy and regulatory environment for food innovation in Europe.

The discussion will end with an informal tasting and networking opportunity, where participants will be invited to sample food innovations and continue the conversation with speakers and fellow attendees.

Speakers:

Hidde Boersma, Senior Policy Advisor, Agriculture and Conservation, WePlanet

Alex Holst, Deputy Head of Policy – EU, Good Food Institute Europe

Dr Hannah Lester, CEO & Principal Consultant, ATOVA Consultancy

Matthijs Germs, EU Public Affairs Manager, Oatly

Emanuele Ciriolo, Head of the Competence Centre on Behavioural Insights, DG Joint Research Centre (DG JRC)

Dr Alessandro Gallina, Policy Officer, DG Research and Innovation (DG RTD)

In partnership with WePlanet
