As part of the Stop Dirty Data Centres international days of action on 6-7 November 2026 across Europe, this panel and assembly will challenge the unchecked expansion of data centres and AI hyperscalers across the UK. The panel will consist of short presentations from researchers at Goldsmiths and King's, focusing on community opposition to data centres in London, how data centres are embedded within wider financial and investment structures, as well as everyday resistance to the wider AI ecosystem. Following this, we will open up for an assembly discussion on the wider implications of data centre buildup across the UK and Europe, and what forms of collective action are possible to exercise our democratic rights.
