Micro Masterclass with Alexandra Geese

How Autocrats and Big Tech undermine democracy... and how we can save it

We are kicking off this semester's Micro Masterclass series at Public Makers with Alexandra Geese, Member of the European Parliament, who has been a major force behind the Digital Services Act, the "basic law of the internet."

As a leading expert in European digital policy, her work focuses on democracy in the digital age, sustainable digitalization, and gender equality. In this session, she'll help us understand how exactly autocrats and big tech put democratic values under pressure and ways forward to address this.

Together we'll explore:

What does this challenge mean for gender equality?

How should Europe rethink its relationship with the US?

How can we strengthen digital sovereignty and protect an open digital sphere?

Format: A moderated conversation with Alexandra Geese, followed by an open Q&A where you can ask the questions that matter most to you.

Who it's for: Students curious about the future of European democracy and the public sector who want to join an open, inspiring dialogue with a leading figure in digital policy. No prior knowledge needed.
