We’re excited to present our last cafe of the year! Our goal at Coalition Cafe has always been to create a cozy space for community to come home to, whether that’s in LA, Palestine, or anywhere else. We want this cafe in particular to invoke the comfort of taking your shoes off after a long day; the nostalgia of your favorite dish; the joy and sorrow of finding art that speaks to your heart. We’re going all out with a star-studded lineup of queer, AAPI and Indigenous vendors, and we hope that everyone will leave with full bellies and a sense of home.

Featured vendors:

FOODPerhaps Japanese: traditional comfort foods with a modern twist, with great vegan and gluten-free optionsCafe Dochi: Filipino inspired pastriesUbe for U Bae: ube-based goodies and treats

DRINKSFree Spirited Lounge: Alhambra-based sober craft cocktail lounge that also serves inventive tea and coffee drinks

ARTGSTang Art: comic and graphic artist focusing on political subjects, journalism, and human bodiesChileMorena: artist, illustrator, and art educator

Raffle prizes from Ñaxkau: Oxnard-based Zapoteco artist

Where your support goes:

Founded by Mahmoud “Mario” Najjar, Let Hope Rise Gaza identifies practical needs from displaced families in camps and seeks to provide immediate relief while protecting the dignity, privacy, and safety of the people they serve.

Since earlier this year, Mahmoud has been connected with one of the organizers of Coalition Cafe and has stayed in touch through consistent updates about his family and other displaced children who face shortages and difficult conditions as a result of the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

All proceeds raised at Coalition Cafe will go directly to Let Hope Rise Gaza in providing food, clean water, hygiene supplies, and essential medicine to families facing urgent needs.

You can read more about Mahmoud and Let Hope Rise Gaza here.
