Experience a night of improvised musicals, songs, and games! The Baltimore Musical Improv BASH brings together all kinds of improv musicals and songs into one GIANT show!
Where? The Church of the Holy Apostles and St. Stephen, 901 Courtney Rd, Arbutus, MD 21227. Red doors by parking lot.
Experience a night of wild characters, musical games, sing along to catchy songs, new and returning faces, and endless surprises, culminating in the ultimate fully improvised musical!
Unofficial: Every show is completely unauthorized, unscripted, and unrepeatable. Expect story-driven performances with wild characters and grand story arcs, original songs, clever lyrics, and surprising twists.
Mini Musical Improv Championship: This is the friendliest, most competitive showdown in musical improv history! Two teams will go head-to-head in a battle of quick wit, catchy tunes, and over-the-top hilarity. It’s all created with competitive music games, and you get to judge the madness!
Sondheimlich Maneuver makes up entire musicals on the spot: songs, plot twists, epic quests and all. Timeless story shapes meet the strange magic of everyday life, and no two shows are ever the same.
Fraudway! Presents: Prepare to see a brand new, improvised version of your favorite musical… where the lead performer has never seen the original! Join us as the cast of Fraudway! Presents throws an unwitting improviser with no knowledge of a movie or stage musical right into the middle of the story!

⁉️Frequently Asked Questions
What Is an Improvised Musical?
An improvised musical is just like a regular musical, but every song, scene, and character is made up right there on stage. When you come to one of our shows, you’ll see performers create full songs and tell a story—all without a script. We start with a single word from the audience and then dive right into making it all up, including improvised songs that fit the scene. Each musical is one-of-a-kind, so you’ll never see the same show twice.
What Will I See at a Show?
At our shows, you’ll watch as we build an improvised musical from scratch. We take one word from the audience to get started, and then we make up everything—characters, conflicts, resolutions, and, of course, improvised songs. The story might have heroes, villains, friendships, and surprises, and it all unfolds right before your eyes. The songs are completely original and made up, and they bring the whole musical to life!
Is It Really Improvised?
Yes! It’s all completely improvised. Nothing is planned ahead of time. Every line, every scene, and every song is made up on the spot. We love the challenge of making it all work together, and the audience’s suggestion helps guide us. Because it’s all created through improv, each musical show is unique, with improvised songs you’ll only hear once. It’s all about creativity, teamwork, and embracing the unexpected.
ABOUT BALTIMORE MUSICAL IMPROV
At Baltimore Musical Improv, we create improvised songs and musicals filled with improvised songs that come to life on the spot. Each show and workshop is different because everything is made up on the fly. We start with a word from the audience, and from there, our team jump into creating a whole new story, with brand-new characters and scenes. It’s a musical adventure that’s completely unscripted!
We’re a nonprofit group supported by Fractured Atlas, and our mission is to bring the joy of improvised musicals to the Baltimore community. We believe anyone can join in and be part of this unique, creative experience—no singing or acting skills required to start!
Our Mission and Community
Every person who joins us helps make our group special, and we’re excited to grow together. We’re all about bringing improvised musicals to Baltimore and building a community around it. We hope to have more musical improv teams performing regularly, along with regularly scheduled shows that bring improvised songs and stories to audiences all over the city. We partner with groups like Highwire Improv and the Baltimore Improv Group to help them offer more musical classes, workshops, and shows.
