Downloads an .ics file · Times are in America/Los_Angeles · Google Calendar
Dr. Samika Kumar is a postdoctoral fellow in the Experimental Therapeutics and Pathophysiology Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Her research examines the brain and biological processes involved in depression. She received a PhD in Psychology from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
She'll talk a little about her work with neuroimaging and depression, but mostly about her path from undergrad to PhD and postdoc, and her PhD experience in the NIH Graduate Partnerships Program. It's a career talk, aimed mostly at undergrads.
Part of the PRAXIS Fall 2026 Speaker Series.
