🌎 For LA's Climate Community

LA is full of people already doing climate work, from environmental justice organizers who have led it in their own neighborhoods for decades to people just finding their way in. Climate After Hours gives all of them a standing room: one evening a month with the people doing adjacent work across the county, the ones you'd otherwise meet by accident, or never.

Climate work here runs on people who show up for their own neighborhoods. The people who know what our climate future needs are the ones living it every day, in the air on their block, the shade on their street, and the cost of keeping a home cool. From the boardroom to the block party, our neighbors' experience sets the agenda. That is how we design a climate future where every Angeleno thrives.

🎓 Future School Celebration!

This month, celebrating the Future School community! Join us in welcoming participants from Future School, a free virtual workshop series on local LA climate solutions hosted by Better Future Club and the California Center for Climate Change Education at West LA College.

We’ll be recognizing everyone who completed the series with their very own certificates, goodie bags, and a little celebration of all they’ve learned along the way. Come celebrate their commitment to building a better future for LA! 🌻

🪩 What To Expect

The room has two sides. One is a happy hour, with music, drinks, and time to catch up. The other is an informal salon: Solarpunk Solutions lightning talks, then a facilitated conversation once the room fills in. Along the way, add a square to our Vision 2050 quilt, imagining Los Angeles when we got everything right. New squares join the quilt each month!

Each month the evening moves to a different part of the county. A county of 88 cities comes together one neighborhood at a time, and once the work is visible, people find each other. Climate After Hours is how we stop leaving that to chance.

There is no cost to attend. We plan the space, food, and drinks around registrations. If your plans change, please cancel at least 48 hours ahead so someone on the wait list can take your place. If something comes up at the last minute, cancel anyway, because it still helps. If you register and don’t come or cancel more than once, we may ask you to confirm before we hold a spot for you next time.

Climate After Hours is hosted by Collidescope Foundation and Better Future Club, in support of Los Angeles Climate Week, a countywide climate movement organized by the people who live here.

This month we gather at The Expo, a photo studio and event space in West Adams. Our thanks to photographer and friend David Herschorn for hosting us.

Our drink refreshments are courtesy of Liquid Death and Yerba Madre.
