🥾 The Quest
After our last adventure, it’s time for the next sidequest — back to the Bavarian Alps!
This time, we’re tackling Brecherspitze (1,683 m) above Spitzingsee, with around 600 m of elevation gain. Expect beautiful views over Spitzingsee, Schliersee, Tegernsee and the surrounding peaks.
The route starts at Spitzingsattel, passes the Obere Firstalm and then climbs more steeply towards the summit. The final ridge includes some steeper, cable-secured sections, so you should be sure-footed and comfortable with heights.
As always, we’ll take it at a comfortable pace and stay together as a group. 🏔️
⏱️ The Journey Timeline
07:40: Meetup at Munich Hauptbahnhof in front of the storage lockers.
08:02: Train towards Fischhausen-Neuhaus, then bus to Spitzingsattel.
~10:00: Start of the hike 🥾
~12:00: Summit & lunch break 🏔️
~13:00: Begin our descent.
~14:00: Stop at Obere Firstalm for food & drinks 🍻
~15:30: Head back towards Spitzingsattel.
~17:30–18:30: Expected arrival in Munich.
Times may change depending on our pace, breaks and public transport.
🎒 What to Bring
🥾 Sturdy hiking shoes with good grip💧 1–2L of water + lunch/snacks💶 Some cash for the Firstalm🧥 Layers & rain protection
✨ The Vibe
A welcoming, social and low-pressure hike. Expect mountain views, snack breaks, questionable hiking jokes and new people to meet.
You don’t need to be an experienced mountaineer, but you should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable on steeper mountain terrain.
Space is limited, so please only RSVP if you’re sure you can make it!
🌦️ We’ll hike in normal mountain weather, but may change or cancel the route if conditions make the exposed summit ridge unsafe.
⚠️ Difficulty
This is a medium-difficulty mountain hike with around 600 m elevation gain and ~3.5 hours of walking.
The final approach is steeper and includes a cable-secured ridge. If you don’t feel comfortable continuing to the summit, there’s absolutely no pressure — safety comes first.
