Atlassian and Konnectile bring to you "Beyond Vibe Coding": an honest evening with Sydney's engineering leaders on what changes when AI writes the code. Wednesday 17 February 2027, Atlassian Sydney.

AI coding tools have moved from experiment to everyday practice faster than most engineering organisations could adapt.

The term "vibe coding" coined by Andrej Karpathy in early 2025; gave engineers permission to generate without reasoning. By 2026, the bill has come due. 41% of all global code is now AI-generated. Security vulnerabilities in AI-generated code sit at 45%. The era of prompt-and-ship is ending. What comes next is Agentic Engineering: the discipline of designing AI systems that plan, execute, verify, and iterate across entire development workflows under rigorous human oversight. This event is a reckoning , not a celebration. It asks the engineering leaders who actually ship production systems:

What do engineers need to genuinely understand, own, and adapt to in an agentic world?

The three questions this event answers

Q1 What separates vibe coding from agentic engineering in production?

Q2 What is the new job description of a software engineer in 2027 and beyond?

Q3 How do engineering leaders build cultures that evolve, not just adopt?

41% of all global code is AI-generated" is a widely recycled figure with weak sourcing. The 45% figure comes from 2025 testing of AI-generated code samples, which is not the same claim as "45% of AI-generated code contains vulnerabilities.

Why attend

Practitioners, not presenters.Hear from people shipping production systems and making real decisions about AI in engineering. No hype. No vendor theatre. Just what is working, what isn't, and what they are learning.

A room worth being in.Limited places, reviewed registrations and a senior audience of CTOs, engineering leaders, principal and staff engineers, architects and senior technical practitioners.

The conversations that matter.Explore how AI is changing engineering teams, developer roles, architecture, quality, security, productivity and the skills organisations will need next.

Time to connect.Structured networking with peers facing the same decisions, challenges and opportunities.

About the hosts

About Atlassian:

Atlassian was founded in Sydney in 2002 and grew into one of Australia’s best-known technology companies. Its tools, including Jira, Confluence, Trello, Loom and Bitbucket, are used by software and business teams to plan work, write and share knowledge, and ship products together. Rovo, Atlassian’s AI, brings search, chat and agents into that work.

Atlassian has a long history of supporting the engineering community in its hometown. Its George Street office regularly hosts meetups and practitioner sessions on platform engineering, developer experience and the craft of building software. Beyond Vibe Coding continues that tradition by giving Sydney’s engineers a room to talk openly about how AI is changing their work.

About Konnectile

Konnectile creates curated events where senior leaders have the conversations that matter. Our formats are intimate by design, built for candour, useful connections and meaningful exchange rather than scale.
