Governance That Helps Founders Scale

Good governance isn't just about compliance. It's about bringing the right people around the table, making better decisions, and creating the foundations for sustainable growth.

Join the Institute of Directors  (IoD) and Ormeau Labs for a practical, interactive session exploring how governance can support growth, improve decision-making and help organisations build for the long term.

Whether you're preparing to raise investment, building your leadership team, or thinking about your first Non-Executive Director, this session will explore how good governance can become a competitive advantage, not a corporate tick-box exercise.

We’ll explore:

Why governance matters earlier than most founders think.

The role of advisors, boards, and Non-Executive Directors.

How effective governance supports better decision- making and sustainable growth, beyond revenue.

Practical steps to introduce governance without slowing momentum.

We'll hear from Deborah Morton-Dare and Simon Haslam, followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Deborah, featuring founder and CEO of TeamFeePay, Liam McStravick, founder and CEO at Complyfirst, Fiona Jelly, and CEO of Axial3D, Roger Johnston plus Investment Director at Clarendon Fund Managers, Brian Cummings, who has helped startups navigate the journey from early-stage venture to scaling business.

After the session, stay for pizza, drinks and the opportunity to continue the conversation with fellow founders, investors and the wider startup community.
