Narrative Change Summit A part of the Climate Film Festival • Climate Week NYC 2026 📅 Monday, September 21 • 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM📍 SVA Theatre, Chelsea How can we connect across a fractured media landscape? The Narrative Change Summit brings together the companies, nonprofits, and philanthropies working with film and media creatives to engage new audiences. If you’re interested in the cutting edge of sustainability communications and media, this is for you. The Summit is one of the most unique rooms at Climate Week, bringing together filmmakers with entrepreneurs, major studios with creators, journalists with philanthropists, and scientists with leaders in communications and marketing. You’ll come away with knowledge of how organizations and creatives at the cutting edge of media are using new narratives and forms to engage audiences on climate and sustainability. You’ll also meet peers, leaders, executives, and funders there to share knowledge and build the ecosystem. Check the calendar for the full agenda and to apply to specific events. Who Attends: You’ll meet founders, executives, directors, funders, and leading practitioners from across climate, media, culture, and communications, including: Communications, marketing, brand, and narrative leaders Filmmakers, journalists, producers, writers, artists, and creators Sustainability and ESG leaders Nonprofit and advocacy executives Philanthropic leaders, funders, and impact investors Founders, entrepreneurs, and climate solutions builders Studio, media, brand, and cultural institution executives Scientists and researchers bringing complex ideas to public audiences You’ll hear how: Potential Energy Coalition uses kitchen-table issues to open climate conversations through unscripted television and social media. Sustainability leaders at NBCUniversal bring sustainability into one of the world’s largest studios and media companies. The sustainability team at the Seattle Seahawks works with Ocean Conservancy’s Protect Where We Play to engage sports fans through the stadium experience. Community leaders from Standing Rock, Appalachia, and the Amazon work with the Honnold Foundation to co-create stories around renewable energy, resilience, and local power. GoodPower works with a network of social-media creators to build support for renewable energy in unexpected places. Scientists, data artists, and magazine editors bring underground mycorrhizal networks into public awareness. The award-winning directors behind Blackfish and The Cove explore the relationship between filmmaking and activism. Journalists demonstrate how reporting can create real-world change, even in a challenging media environment. Climate founders move beyond the pitch deck, working with storytellers to make complex solutions memorable and accelerate adoption. Key Information: Doors open at 9:30am, you’re welcome to stay for the entire day or for a single session You may also arrive for just the session you’re interested in, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the event RSVPs will be checked at the door, with priority given to specific session RSVPs.
