Preview Night | Ayesha Singh: Collapse of a Geometry

Nature Morte invites you to the opening of Collapse of a Geometry, Ayesha Singh’s third solo exhibition with the gallery, with an exhibition text by Anushka Rajendran.

Returning to the foundations of Singh’s practice, the exhibition examines how built structures articulate formations of power, particularly in Delhi, a city shaped by centuries of political and historical change. It also brings into focus the more intimate histories that inform her work, including matrilineal inheritances, personal encounters and the ways spaces are held in memory.

Through drawing, photography and image-recall, Singh explores how architecture is experienced, remembered and reimagined. Facades become points of encounter between public and private worlds, revealing some aspects of a space while concealing the complex histories and relationships that lie within.
