The Productathon: Think Like a PM, Build with AI, Win a Monitor!
One real-world problem. One hour. One winning idea.
Ever wondered what it's like to think like a Product Manager at companies like Google, Microsoft, or Apple?
Join us for an interactive Microsoft Copilot Productathon, where you'll be challenged to turn a broad, real-world problem into an innovative product idea, all within 60 minutes!
How It Works
We'll give you an open-ended challenge, something like:
"How would you improve safety across Africa?"
Sounds broad? That's the point!
Your job is to narrow down the problem, identify a specific group of users, and develop a product solution that creates meaningful impact.
You'll have 60 minutes to brainstorm, research, and refine your idea using Microsoft Copilot as your AI-powered thought partner.
At the end, participants competing for the grand prize will have 2 minutes to pitch their ideas.
What Are We Looking For?
Our judging criteria are inspired by the core competencies evaluated in Google Product Management interviews:
Product Vision: Can you identify a real user need and propose a compelling solution?
Product Analysis: How well do you understand your users and the problem you're solving?
Strategic Thinking: What makes your idea valuable, impactful, and realistic?
Execution & Prioritization: What would you build first, and why?
Problem Understanding: Can you turn an ambiguous challenge into a specific, actionable problem?
AI Fluency: How effectively do you use Copilot to strengthen your research, creativity, and decision-making?
AI Product Integration: If your solution uses AI, does it meaningfully improve the product?
The Prize
The participant with the strongest product idea and pitch takes home a brand-new monitor!
No PM Experience? No Problem.
You don't need to know how to code, have prior Product Management experience, or build a working prototype.
We're looking for creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to turn a big problem into a thoughtful solution.
The goal isn't to let AI do your thinking. It's to use AI to 10x what you're capable of creating.
Come ready to think big, challenge yourself, and pitch something awesome.
May the best product win!
