Hey, how's it going? Tell Your Story in 90 Seconds: A Storytelling Workshop looks like it should be pretty interesting. Want me to help you organise around it?

Have you ever been asked to introduce yourself, at a networking event or the start of a meeting or a first coffee with someone new, and heard yourself recite your job title and a few lines from your resume? Most of us have, and most of us walk away wishing we had said something that actually sounded like us.

In this workshop, you'll work on the story that sits behind the resume. Will Greenblatt, a former child actor who now coaches founders and teams on how they talk about themselves, will walk you through a simple three-part structure for telling where you come from: a moment from your childhood, something that woke you up when you were younger, and the choice you made as an adult that brought you to the work you do now. He has taught this framework to teams at Wayfair, Ericsson and Boston Dynamics, and he'll start by telling his own.

From there you'll build yours. You'll practice out loud in pairs and small groups, get live feedback from Will, and leave with a version of your story you can tell in about 90 seconds, whether that's to a client, a hiring manager, a room full of strangers, or someone you'd like to get to know better.

Who it's for: anyone who has ever felt flat describing themselves. You don't need to work in sales, you don't need any performance experience, and you're welcome to come on your own.

Free. Tuesday, November 10, 2:00–4:00 PM at Artists For Humanity, 100 W 2nd St, South Boston. We're keeping it to about 30 people so everyone gets time to practice, so please RSVP only if you can make it.

Staying around? Happy Human Hour starts at 5:00 PM in the same building.

This event is part of Boston Human Week (Nov 9–13), a week of conversations across Boston about how we build a future that puts people first. Follow the full lineup at luma.com/humanweek.
