Exhibition Opening + Screening: Songs of A Cricket

Songs of a Cricket 蟋蟀之歌 is an exhibition by Yunjia Yuan exploring the cricket fighting folk culture in China. The story began with the artist’s father’s decades-long passion for cricket fighting in Shanghai. What started as a glimpse into his world grew into a project tracing the histories, objects, and people gathered around these small bugs.Bringing together ancient Chinese texts, childhood memories, speculative fiction, and robotic cricket fights, the exhibition explores the curious world of cricket keeping and fighting.𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 & 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴Nov 7 · 6–9 PM6 PM –– Doors Open6:30 PM –– Documentary Screening: A Cricket Affair7 PM –– Q&A with Artist and Director𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀, Free AdmissionNov 8 · 2-8 PMNov 9 · 2–6 PMSpecial E𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: Cricket Game, Ticketed EventSunday Nov 8, 3-5PMGet Your Ticket Here: https://luma.com/spu77p83
