A one-night creative retreat in the bush.
Every year we do an Atlas summer day trip.
This year we're making it a summer camp.
Join us for one night at Carrington Falls campground for a little offline reset - swimming, walking, reading, making things, eating together, meeting new people, sitting in the sun and generally getting out of your normal routine.
But mostly, this weekend is for that thing you've been meaning to make all year but haven't quite had the time, space or headspace for.
Bring the half-finished project. The book you've been meaning to read. The idea that's been sitting in your Notes app. The camera. The sketchbook. The journal. Or absolutely nothing at all.
We'll make some time to work on our own things, some time to wander around together, and plenty of time for the unplanned stuff in between.
🏕️ The plan
We'll arrive Saturday morning, set up camp, eat lunch and head down for a swim.
From there, the afternoon is deliberately loose: go for a walk, find a lookout, sit by the water, read, write, draw, make something, nap, chat to someone new or do absolutely nothing.
We'll eat dinner together in the evening, then wake up slowly on Sunday for coffee, breakfast, another walk / creative session, a final swim and one last hang before heading home.
There are a few walks around the campground, including a short 1.4km loop, a 4.2km return walk to a lookout and a longer 6.9km loop. There are also swimming holes nearby.
✨ Make the weekend with us
One of our favourite things about Atlas is that everyone brings something to the table.
So, if you'd like to host a little something during the weekend, let us know when you RSVP.
It could be:
a 10-minute creative exercise
a drawing or writing prompt
a stretch / movement session
a mini workshop
a game
a conversation
a song
a guided walk
a weird skill you happen to have
something you've been learning
something you think other people might enjoy
It doesn't need to be polished and you don't need to call it a workshop.
We'll touch base closer to the date to workshop and curate the agenda together.
You can also just come along and participate — no contribution required.
🌞 What's included:
Your ticket includes:
Campsite
Saturday lunch & dinner
Sunday breakfast
Coffee & tea
All Atlas programming / activities & materials
Bring any other drinks you'd like to have, plus snacks for between meals.
🚗 Getting there
We'll coordinate carpooling so everyone can get there without needing to drive solo.
When you RSVP, let us know:
Need a ride? We'll help match you with someone.
Have space in your car? Let us know how many people you can fit.
⛺️ Where will you sleep?
You can sleep in:
A tent
Your car
A van
Whatever works for you.
Please let us know what you're bringing so we can manage the campsite space and make sure everyone has somewhere to sleep.
If you don't have a tent, car or van, don't stress — let us know and we'll make sure everyone has somewhere to sleep.
📵 The offline bit
We're not going to confiscate your phones.
But we are going to encourage you to put them away.
There'll be limited mobile service around the campground anyway, so consider this your excuse to stop checking things for a while.
Bring the analogue things you like doing: books, notebooks, cameras, binoculars, sketchbooks, cards, magazines, instruments, whatever helps you enjoy being offline.
🌿 The good-vibes policy
We're here to have a really good time.
We're also sharing a campground, a national park and the outdoors with other people.
So: be kind, look after each other, respect our neighbours, leave the place better than we found it, and take your rubbish with you.
That's pretty much it.
Come curious. Come generous. Come as you are.
