...so come on down and join us for a fun weekend!
Escape the city and join us for a massive weekend of wind, waves, and classic coastal fun at Padre Island National Seashore! This is the ultimate autumn beach camping getaway for grown-ups. Whether you want to active-up your weekend with beach games, hunt for sea glass, or just lounge under a canopy listening to the surf, there is a spot for you at our base camp.
Here is what we have lined up for our weekend on the coast:
🏈 Daytime Fun & Beach Games
We’ll have our central canopy village set up right on the sand. During the day, feel free to join in on team sandcastle building, a beach scavenger hunt, casual target games like Washers or Cornhole, or just take the ultimate beach nap.
🦐 Saturday Afternoon: The Grand Coastal Shrimp Boil (3:00 PM)
Skip the individual grill lines—we are feeding the whole crew families-style! On Saturday afternoon, we are firing up a massive stockpot for a traditional coastal shrimp boil. Get ready for a massive spread of fresh shrimp, sweet corn on the cob, red potatoes, and smoky sausage dumped straight onto our newspaper-lined tables. Just bring your appetite and your favorite adult beverage.
🔥 Saturday Night: Beach Bonfire & Spooky Ghost Stories
Once the sun goes down, the beach completely changes. We will gather the entire crowd around a roaring beach bonfire to enjoy the cool night air and catch the sunset views. As night falls, grab an upgraded gourmet s'more and pull your chair closer to the fire. With Halloween right around the corner, we’ll be sharing chilling coastal ghost stories, local legends, and eerie tales around the flames.
✨ What to Pack:
• Camping gear (Tent, sleeping pad/bag, sturdy sand stakes)
• Beach chairs and your favorite drinks/coolers
• Food for Friday night, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning (coffee will be provided by SACC each morning)
• Warm layers for the evening (it gets breezy on the dunes!)
• Your favorite beach game
• Flashlight or headlamp
• Your best spooky story to share around the fire!
• Some firewood to chip in to the bonfire
RSVP Details:
We can accommodate any number of campers, but we ask that you chip in $7 for the shrimp boil if you'd like to participate; that can be paid to Chad via Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, or PayPal (@chadwestes or 210-870-4133)

Entry into P.I.N.S. is free with a National Parks Pass or $25 for a week-long pass.

Please note this is extremely primitive camping: no running water, no outhouse, no showers; plan accordingly.

Feel free to bring your furry friends, but you are responsible for them.

San Antonio Camping Club does not provide medical services. We're here to help if you have issues, but you are responsible for your own safety. Please know your limits and stay safe.
