Join us for a relaxed and inspiring evening with Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Ananda, exploring Buddhist approaches to healing and inner well-being. We’ll look at how our states of mind affect the way we experience difficulties, and how meditation can help us develop greater peace, resilience and positivity from within. The evening is based on the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and is designed for everyone. No previous experience of meditation or Buddhism is needed. What to expect Arrival & welcome Come a little early, get settled and meet some of the other participants. Guided meditation We'll begin with a simple meditation to relax the body and calm the mind. Public talk — Healing Begins in the Mind Gen Ananda will introduce the Buddhist understanding of the relationship between our mind, suffering and healing, with practical advice that we can apply in everyday life. Questions & conversation There will be time for questions at the end and an opportunity to stay around, chat and meet people. What should I bring? Nothing special! Just come as you are. We have chairs and meditation cushions available, so you can sit in whichever way is most comfortable for you. You may want to bring a notebook if you like taking notes.
