I started Still Dreaming as a way to connect with others and bring often-isolated seniors together to form new friendships. To further that goal, this new group gets together to share stories from our lives at venues around town — and to meet others who live nearby.
Here’s How It Works:
Each meeting has a theme, shared in advance, and attendees take turns telling a ten-minute (or less) story about themselves loosely based on it. No one else talks during a person’s storytelling, after which about five minutes are allocated to questions before moving to the next storyteller. The storyteller can choose to respond or simply pass to the next person. This is NOT creative writing or a performance. Just us getting to know each other. And if you’d rather just come and listen? That’s a fine way to spend an evening too.
In this Session:
Tell us about about a time when you were faced with doing something which you would rather not have done but your conscience or values made you do it anyway.
