The Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks

Gritstone edges galore on this 10 1/2 mile walk, and Staffordshire scenery at its finest. The walk takes in Ramshaw Rocks, Hen Cloud and the Roaches ridge itself. Fabulous views and hopefully we’ll spot the ‘winking man’ rock formation 😉 Maybe they’ll be a geologist or two amongst us to explain what all the crazy slants and tilted rocks could mean 🤔 We’ll finish with the slippery ravine of Luds Church. Some boggy sections throughout. Just over 2000 ft/ 623m ascent due to the jagged skyline with a few ups and downs. Prompt start essential on this walk as car park closes at 5pm.
