October 8th Adult Piano Players Meetup at the Mattock School of Music

Join us for our monthly gathering of adult piano players and piano enthusiasts at the Mattock School of Music, 320 Kennett Pike, Chadds Ford, PA.

All levels are welcome. Our group includes people with a wide range of experience—from newer adult students and returning players to people who have played piano for many years.

Play whatever you enjoy playing — classical, pop, jazz, show tunes, movie music, your own composition, something from your lesson book, or anything else. It doesn't have to be polished or "performance ready." Pieces you're still working on are welcome too.

There is no requirement to play. If you're new to the group and would rather come, listen, meet everyone, and see what we're like before playing, please do.

Our gatherings are informal and friendly. We take turns playing for one another, with a bit of conversation in between.

We intentionally keep our gatherings small, generally limiting attendance to about 10 piano players. That way, everyone who wants to play usually has as least three opportunities at the piano. But feel free to bring a friend or family member to listen, if you desire.

This isn't a recital or a competition. The idea is simply to have a place where you can share your musical interest/passion. While doing that, you'll become more comfortable playing for others, you'll meet people who share the same interest. You may even learn something new; a song you've never heard, a style of playing that you'd like to try, or a way to approach practice. And of course, your attendance may end up helping someone else do the same.

New members are always welcome. If you've been looking for an opportunity to meet other adult piano players in the West Chester, Kennett Square, Chadds Ford, or greater Chester County area, we'd be happy to have you join us.

The only thing we ask is that you come with a positive, supportive attitude, and that you RSVP if you plan to attend. This will help us control the size of the gathering.

Note: There is a parking lot behind the Mattock school. But since it can at times be a bit tight, I suggest that you park at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, which is just north of the school on Kennett Pike.There is a walking path from the church parking lot to the parking lot in the rear of the Mattock School. If you park at the church, please use that path. Do not walk down Kennett Pike.
