HARVEST MOON KAYAK + DRUM CIRCLE - WARRENVILLE, IL

Let's Paddle, Shake, Rattle & [Drum] Roll on the Harvest Full Moon! My 1st Drum Circle was a Kayaking and Drum Circle event on this very site & I have been wanting to recreate that experience & maybe ignite a spark in others! PART UNO! BOATING/KAYAK ADVENTURE We will start off at 2pm at the boat launch at Blackwell Forest Preserve. Enter the Preserve off Butterfield Road and follow the road until you see the boat launch parking lot. You can rent a single or tandem kayak, canoe, row boat, paddle boat or bring your own kayak and join us for some leisurely paddling around the lake for about an hour or so. If you are renting, it will be a 1ST COME, 1ST SERVE basis. They have a limited amount of each watercraft so if you don't get your 1st choice, you can choose another boating option. Partnering up is a great way to save money and meet new friends! I highly suggest this option so drop a note in the chat if you want to share a craft so we can all stay connected! Ed will be helping out with the boat navigation but feel free to reach out to each other to coordinate. Rental Rates are listed below. If you bring your own, you will need to either have a DuPage County permit or buy a permit for the day. DuPage Residents pay $10 for a daily permit. Non-residents pay $15. No gas powered boats are allowed. Don't worry if you're a novice. This is a smaller lake and marked as "beginner level." For the 2nd half of our outing, we will be hosting a community drum circle next to the west picnic shelter that is located across the boat launch off the main road. This will start about 4pm to give people time to enjoy the water, accommodate any late kayakers and set up to jam. Bring a chair, snacks/food, N/A beverages to share along with your drum(s), percussion instruments or found sound as we blend rhythm & spirit together to create a sound that is as unique as each one of us. Some extra instruments will also be available to use. Singing & dancing are highly encouraged. Feel free to join us for one or the other or both!
