Description:
Welcome! Are you...
- New to hiking?
- Wanting to hike at a relaxed pace?
- Trying to get more comfortable being outdoors?
- Looking for a group of people to hike with?
- Eager to get outside?

Then sign up for this beginner-friendly, relaxed pace hike in the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network! All are welcome to join these hikes. See below for more details about this specific hike!

What to expect:
Approximately 5 miles total, this hike will be an out-and-back walk on the Schuylkill River Trail. We will start at the Port Providence Trailhead, walk two miles into Phoenixville along the trail, stop at 260 Bridge Cafe for a coffee/tea break, and then head back the way we came to finish our walk at the Port Providence Trailhead.

We will meet at 10:00 AM at the Port Providence Trailhead (989-993 Port Providence Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460). We should anticipate being back at the Port Providence Trailhead by 12:30 PM.

The terrain is mainly gravel. Expect the trail to be relatively flat, with little to no elevation gain. Participants should plan to bring at least one 1 liter of water. Please also take the necessary measures to dress appropriately for the weather. Walking sneakers are suitable for this activity.

Any questions about what to bring or wear? Email Madison DeGerolamo at [email protected] !

Where is the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail?
The Highlands Trail in Pennsylvania is a connected trail network located in the 1.9 million-acre, 13 county Pennsylvania Highlands region. The 300-mile route spans across southeast Pennsylvania, from the Pennsylvania-Maryland border in Waynesboro to the Delaware River in Easton. The trail co-aligns with several other trails in the region, including rugged, natural surface trails, as well as paved multi-use pathways. Hikers may find themselves walking through dense forests with beautiful vistas, or through urban areas where shops and restaurants are just steps away. Find more information about the PA Highlands Trail on our website and check out our interactive map for more details on trail segments.

Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
