🕷️🎬 CRAWLERS (PLUS A JAR FULL OF SPIDERS)

🕷️ Did you know that spiders just love Halloween? Well, they most certainly act like they do!

👋 What's up you guys! It looks like the monster movies have come out in full force this Halloween month. And, I guess now it’s time to enjoy this new arachnid entry by Ángel Gómez Hernández, who’s fast becoming a powerhouse in the horror scene.

This new horror thriller will take us into a deadly spider infestation which rapidly spreads inside a locked-down apartment complex. The whole nightmare begins when a man returns home from a trip, unknowingly carrying a new breed of highly venomous spiders. And, what initially seems to be a localised medical emergency suddenly becomes a full-blown outbreak. OK, nice one, but hold on a second...

Bloody hell, this premise seems awfully familiar to that French film we all saw back in 2024 called Vermines. So excuse me, is there something venomous happening here too? Or did these spiders just somehow travel cross-country? Blimey, and may I also say that this is, allegedly, an original screenplay and not a remake. Well... we’re just going to have to see about that. 🕷️

The Meetup: For this meetup, I am prepared to bring a jar full of spiders for you to admire. Then we will proceed to a movie about them, so to speak. And, after the film, we will reconvene once again, together with the spiders, to share our reviews and, of course, give it our Letterboxd scores. I’ll also post the final details and exact times as we get closer to the date, so make sure you come back to this page.

Until we meet again, keep your eyes on your ceiling and check your shoes before you put them on! Because London is infested with spiders too... 🕷️
