Join us at our next Book Club meeting in December for a stimulating discussion with like-minded individuals of Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford.

Jack Weatherford’s Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World is considered to be the definitive biography of the founder of history's greatest empire.

Born Temujin, a pariah from the steppes, Genghis Khan emerged as an unexpected leader, abolishing torture, guaranteeing religious freedom, and destroying feudal systems based on aristocratic privilege. Genghis Khan united all the Mongol tribes of the steppes and transformed their way of life. He created the most efficient army of the Middle Ages, opened trade routes that connected the known world, and founded an empire that stretched from Europe to East Asia. His successors were kings, khans, and emperors in China, India, and Russia, and his legacy was enduring.

Jack Weatherford’s 2004 book is of the top-selling works on Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire. The book sets out to a mighty task: offering a re-evaluation of the Mongol imperial founder.

If you do not have time to read the book here is a talk by the author on the subject of his book YouTube: Jack Weatherford speaks about Genghis Khan at Embry-Riddle Honors Series or you could join us anyway to listen to and discuss with those who have read the book.
