The walk commences in the village of Hebden which can be reached by following the B6265 from Grassington for about 2 miles. On reaching the village turn right onto Hebden Main Street, ( Opposite the Clarendon Hotel ) where on-street parking is available. This is the meeting point.
( Just before you go down the little hill to the Clarendon Hotel there is also, on the right, a carpark. ) We plan to start walking at 9.45am, so please allow sufficient time for travelling and changing into boots, etc, and come appropriately attired and equipped for the conditions expected. Should you require transport, please message MICK who WILL TRY TO organise for you to be picked up. .
1. From the village, our route follows Hebden Beck upstream, via green valleys, contrasting with the remains of the lead mining industry from a different century. On Grassington Moor on the open moorland we have fine views over Wharfedale, while descending on the return via Linton Falls, along the river Wharfe back to to Hebden.
This is a Leeds CHA walk, and there is no charge to attend the first three walks, but to attend further walks we request that you join our club for an annual membership of only £6.00. This will give you access to an unlimited number of walks, social events, coach trips, and weekends away, in line with our parent club Leeds CHA Rambling & Social Club. for further details follow the link on this website.
