Classic Bushwalk: Cowan to Brooklyn, 13.5KM! Hard

This is a fantastic bush walk with some epic climbs and wonderful views.

The walk sections are:

1. Cowan Station to Lookout, morning tea: 4KM.
2. Lookout to Hawkesbury River Lookout, Lunch: 4KM.
3. Hawkesbury Lookout to Brooklyn, finish: 5.5KM.

NO SHOPS, SO MEMBERS MUST BRING FOOD!

I aim to complete the day’s walking by 3;30PM.

Distance: 13.5KM

Type of Walk: rugged bush tracks, fire trails.

Difficulty: Hard/Medium.

Walking Pace: Average pace of 3KM/hr, given the climbs.

Meeting Place and Transport: Cowan Train station by no later than 10:00AM. Train back to the City from Hawkesbury River Railway Station. MEMBERS MUST ARRIVE AT COWAN IN THE LAST 5 CARRIAGES, BEING THE REAR CARRIAGES, AS THIS IS A SHORT PLATFORM.

What to bring: Trail runners, boots or trainers; 1.5 – 2 litres of water, no refill available along the way; hydrolytes; two snacks and one lunch; torch; light rain jacket depending on conditions.
