\Meeting location: 1635 River Rd, New Hope, PA 18938 {The parking area is by the canal in the upper section of Washington Crossing Historic Park across River Road from the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. The entrance drive is at the intersection of Aquetong Rd and Rt. 32/River Rd, two miles south of the town of New Hope.
Of all the rocks to choose from, limestone and it’s metamorphosized form marble are probably the spookiest of them all. Come join a state park naturalist on the towpath by Thompson Neely House to learn about these rocks, made from broken up shells of ancient sea creatures and now used to mark our headstones, among other uses.
For this program, we will be covering around 3 miles round-trip on flat ground along the towpath. Please wear comfortable shoes for walking and layers for the chilly weather. There are flush restrooms located at the top lot next to the Thompson Neely House at the top of the slope heading into the park. For any questions, please reach out to Annastasia Soto at [email protected]
