Come join us for a fun Thanksgiving meal challenge! As a child one of my favorite Holiday leftovers was my mom's post Thanksgiving turkey tetrazzini! I expanded on the idea and came up with the pairing menu below!
And as a special treat... Alice is guest co-hostessing/cheffing with me! We make a great team in the kitchen and her desserts are waaay better than mine!!
Prepayment via the methods listed below of $89.65 is required for this event. Your payment covers the following meal and wine pairing. Refunds will only be issued if a paying waitlister takes your spot.
I will be hosting this event in my home. Location will be provided to attending members the day before the event. Members must have attended three public events to join us at in home events.
1st Course: The Holiday Tapas Platter
The Dish: A premium trio featuring mini crispy Savory Stuffing Waffles, panko-crusted Stuffing Croquettes filled with melted Fontina and crispy chopped prosciutto, and a shot glass of creamy Smoked Salmon Dip with veggie dippers!
The Wine: Sancerre (tbd)
Pairing Notes: The wine's electric citrus acidity and flinty minerality act as a palate cleanser, cutting right through the rich cheese and smoky fish.
2nd Course: Creamy Turkey & Wild Rice Soup
The Dish: A velvety soup with shredded turkey, nutty wild rice, and diced mirepoix simmered in stock and heavy cream broth.
The Wine: Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay
Pairing Notes: The legendary, buttery weight and toasted oak profile of the Rombauer flawlessly mirror the soup's luxurious cream base.
3rd Course: Turkey Tetrazzini
The Dish: Leftover shredded turkey tossed with sautéed mushrooms, peas, and pasta in a rich, creamy parmesan and dry sherry sauce. Baked until bubbling with a golden parmesan crust. (I will have a gluten free pasta option)
The Wine: Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir
Pairing Notes: Cristom’s savory earthiness and vibrant red fruit cut through the decadent cream sauce, elevating the mushrooms while keeping the turkey front and center.
4th Course: Flourless Dark Chocolate Pots de Crème
The Dish: A luxurious, French-style baked dark chocolate custard topped with espresso-infused whipped cream and a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt.
The Wine: Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (tbd)
Pairing Notes: The dark chocolate custard amplifies the wine's rich blackberry and cassis notes, while the espresso cream bridges the gap into the Cabernet's natural roasted coffee and oak profile.
