You don’t need to figure out where to go, which bar to choose, or who to go with. We start the night at Somewhere Bar with a relaxed social, where you can meet solo travelers, digital nomads, remote workers, expats, newcomers and friendly locals. Then at around 10:00 PM, our hosts gather the group and take everyone out for hosted bar hopping. 🍻🎧 So instead of walking into Taipei nightlife alone, you already have people to go with. 👋 Coming by yourself? That’s completely normal here. Our hosts will welcome you and introduce you to people when you arrive. Some of them first joined Taipei Weekend Social as guests themselves, so they know what it feels like to walk into a social event alone. And on Fridays, they don’t just host the first part. Meet at Somewhere Bar 🍷 We start at Somewhere Bar near Liuzhangli MRT Station. Grab your included drink, meet the group and settle in. Our hosts will help introduce new guests, connect people naturally and make sure solo arrivals don’t have to stand around wondering who to talk to. You might meet: ✦ Solo travelers visiting Taipei ✦ Digital nomads & remote workers ✦ Expats and newcomers ✦ International students ✦ Taiwanese locals who enjoy meeting people from around the world The group is international, so English and Mandarin are both naturally used. But this is a social night, not a language class. 2. Hosted Bar Hopping After 10 PM 🍻🎧 At around 10:00 PM, our hosts gather everyone who wants to continue and lead the group out for bar hopping. This is the main Friday highlight. You don’t need to research nightlife spots, organize a group or walk into a new bar alone. By then, you already know some people. So the second half feels less like “joining strangers” and more like going out with a group you just met. Depending on the night, the group may head toward Maji Square or nearby nightlife spots. Expect a mix of: 🎧 DJs and music 🍻 Bars and drinks 💃 Dancing 🌃 Outdoor nightlife 🍜 Sometimes food or a late-night stop after You can join the whole night or leave whenever you want. ❤️ What makes our Friday different? A lot of bar crawls start loud and fast. You arrive, everyone drinks, and you’re expected to socialize immediately. We do it differently. We give people time to actually meet first. That way, when the bar hopping starts, you’re not moving through Taipei nightlife with a room full of strangers. Is it okay to come by myself? Yes. That’s actually one of the best reasons to join. Many guests arrive alone and don’t know anyone. Our hosts will welcome you, introduce you to people and help you get into your first conversation. By the time the bar hopping starts, you’ll already know some of the group. 🍻 What happens after 10 PM? At around 10 PM, our hosts gather the guests who want to continue and lead the group out for bar hopping. The exact route can vary, but the night usually continues around Maji Square or nearby nightlife areas. You can stay for one stop or continue with the group longer. 🌃 Do I have to join the bar hopping? No. You can join only the first social at Somewhere Bar if you prefer. But the hosted bar hopping is the main Friday highlight. 🍺 Is this a heavy-drinking bar crawl? No. The first part is deliberately relaxed so people can meet before going out. You can drink as much or as little as you want. Dancing is optional too. 💻 I’m a digital nomad or remote worker. Is this for me? Yes. If you work remotely, are new in Taipei or simply want more people to go out with, you’ll fit in. This is a good way to close the laptop, meet people and start the weekend with a group. 🗣️ Is this a language exchange? Not really. Because the group is international, English and Mandarin are both naturally used. But there are no language tables, lessons or structured language practice.
